 Bean sprout are very low calorie, good source of vitamin C, also very good source of fibre. This recipe is very simple, healthy and tasty.


Preparation time 10 minutes.

250 g bean sprout, washed and drain (see hints & tips)
2-3 spring ( green) onions, slice (parallel) horizontal
1 tbs gluten free  soy sauce
1 ½ tsp lime or lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
½ tsp sesame oil

Method 1

1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar, lime juice, and sesame oil. Mix well. Until the sugar is dissolved.

2. Arrange the salad bowl and mix bean sprout and spring onions, Gently toss. Pour soy dressing over the sprout and toss.

 

Method 2

1. Add 1 tbs peanuts oil or your choice of cooking oil. Heat oil in small frying pan or heat in microwave until moderately.

2. Carefully pour over dressing mixture to release their flavors. Stir dressing well. Pour over the bean sprouts and toss well.

Hints & Tips;

Garnish with choice of nuts  and sliced green or red chillies to get more flavor.

*Studies show, row sprouts like mung bean sprouts and alfalfa sprouts have a higher than average risk of containing salmonella bacteria (contaminated with E, coli) which can cause food poisoning. So don’t forget to wash all sprouts thoroughly before used.
