This is another one of my great spicy tofu dishes. It is very easy to make and if you can’t handle the taste of chilli then you can  avoid the chillies in this recipe. I used premium  hard tofu ( macro organic) from Woolworths. Use the nonstick frying pan to cook tofu. It works well.

Preparation + cooking time 20 mins.
Serves 4 as a side dish.
500 g hard or medium tofu, cut into squares 2 cm  x 1 cm
100 g spring onions ( scallion, green onion ) cut into 4 cm size sticks (battens)
2  Red or green hot chillies, finely chopped ( I used 3 birds eye chillies)
1 tsp full black bean garlic sauce I used LEE KUM KEE brand.
3 tbs cooking oil

1. Heat the oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add tofu and chillies, cook  tofu 4 to 5 minutes turning occasionally, until tofu cooked.
2.Add black bean paste and cook at medium to low heat until all the tofu is coated with black bean paste stirring continuously for 2 to 3 minutes.
3.Add spring onion and cook for 30 seconds, stirring once.
*Serve warm with steamed  or fried rice.
